Today is my first day back to work in nearly 7 weeks. Needless to say, its been a very difficult morning. I feel like I've had my heart ripped out. If I can manage a few more hours I'll see Sarah and Abe when I return home for lunch.
I'm very thankful for the time I was able to spend with them the past month and a half. I couldn't imagine life without either of them! I was really fortunate to have had the vacation time available and an employer gracious enough to allow me the time off.

Big Trip
We're leaving this morning to visit Sarah's family in Missouri. Many of them will be meeting Abraham for the first time. He seems very content riding in the car and is generally very well behaved away from home, but he's never been away this long so we'll see how he does. We plan to return home next weekend. Please have a very happy and safe new year everybody!

First Outing
The weather was finally cooperative enough to let us take Abe for his first stroll around the block.

What are you doing this weekend?
From the day a child is born until he graduates high school,
you have 940 weekends together.
If he is now in Kindergarten, you have 636 weekends left.
If he is now in 3rd grade, you have 468 weekends left.
If he is now in 5th grade, you have 364 weekends left.
If he is now in 9th grade, you have 208 weekends left.
If he is now a senior in high school, you have very few.
What are you going to do this weekend?
Make it count.
