Baby Shopping Continued

We did some more shopping this weekend. Can you tell we're excited? =) We found some really good sales and sizes range from 0-12 months. We've been given all kinds of baby girl clothing, but didn't have much that was fit for a boy. Hopefully the stores will start carrying more fall/winter type clothing soon.

Big News

God has blessed us with a son! =)

So excited!!

We are going for our big ultrasound today at 3:00 and we're praying that the baby is healthy. We can't wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I've been convinced it's a boy for weeks now. The doctor said that was her guess at our last ultrasound, but it was still too early to be sure. I had dreams all night last night that it was girl. We will be thrilled either way and just want him or her to be healthy. Can't wait to go tonight and buy a frilly pink dress or some cute overalls. =)

Baby Bedding

We went and picked out the baby's crib set. We don't have the crib set up yet, so the second picture is the one on the bag. It's so cute! The colors match the cross-stitches I've been working on perfectly. I can't wait until Friday. Hopefully the baby will cooperate and we will find out if we're having a boy or a girl.

Court overturns father's grounding of 12-year-old.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080618/wl_canada_afp/canadachildcourtoffbeat_080618180800

Wed Jun 18, 2:08 PM ET

OTTAWA (AFP) - A Canadian court has lifted a 12-year-old girl's grounding, overturning her father's punishment for disobeying his orders to stay off the Internet, his lawyer said Wednesday.

The girl had taken her father to Quebec Superior Court after he refused to allow her to go on a school trip for chatting on websites he tried to block, and then posting "inappropriate" pictures of herself online using a friend's computer.

The father's lawyer Kim Beaudoin said the disciplinary measures were for the girl's "own protection" and is appealing the ruling.

"She's a child," Beaudoin told AFP. "At her age, children test their limits and it's up to their parents to set boundaries."

"I started an appeal of the decision today to reestablish parental authority, and to ensure that this case doesn't set a precedent," she said. Otherwise, said Beaudoin, "parents are going to be walking on egg shells from now on."

"I think most children respect their parents and would never go so far as to take them to court, but it's clear that some would and we have to ask ourselves how far this will go."

According to court documents, the girl's Internet transgression was just the latest in a string of broken house rules. Even so, Justice Suzanne Tessier found her punishment too severe.

Beaudoin noted the girl used a court-appointed lawyer in her parents' 10-year custody dispute to launch her landmark case against dear old dad.

Isa 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Thank you for your prayers.

My brother-in-law Chris' surgery went as well as can be expected. The doctor said the blood flow looks great and they should be able to fit him for a prosthetic in four weeks. He started his physical therapy today and did wonderful. He said the walker is much more comfortable than the crutches he had previously been using. He's a very dedicated worker and already anticipates returning to his job.

Firefox 3 released today!

Mozilla Firefox 3 is officially released today, June 17th. Help Mozilla set the record for most software downloads in a 24 hour period!

If you've never tried Firefox, what are you waiting for? Don't miss out. Its much faster and more reliable than Internet Explorer and has many wonderful add-ons that make browsing a more enjoyable experience. No more pages full of annoying ads! Give it a try and you'll probably never go back to Internet Explorer.

Also, Opera 9.5 was released on June 12. Another excellent browser and though not as fully featured as Firefox, its faster in many cases. There are excellent alternatives to Microsoft's products out there. Competition brings with it more innovation and genuine improvement! Many of the features in Internet Explorer were first introduced in other browsers.

If you insist on using IE, atleast give IE7Pro a try. =)

Are they serious?!

An issue to chew on: Stilettos for babies

WHY?! This is totally disgusting. Can they sink any lower? This is just inviting pervs to look at your child. We've been shopping for baby clothes quite often lately and much of what we see is either immodest or has some bit of "cute" adult humor written on it. Totally inappropriate for ANYONE, let alone a baby.

Banana Cake

I had some ripe bananas that needed to be used or eaten today. I really didn't feel like banana muffins or banana bread, so I got to looking through recipes. This cake looked and sounded really good. The glaze is delicious. It has just the right amount of lemon flavor.

Ingredients:

3 medium eggs
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 small can of crushed pineapple (8oz)
3 cups of flour
3 cups of sugar
1 ½ cup applesauce
1 tablespoon of vanilla
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt

Topping
¼ cup of powdered sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons Lemon juice

Preheat your oven to 350°F

Beat the eggs, bananas, pineapple, flour, granulated sugar, applesauce, vanilla, baking soda and salt together thoroughly.

Bake for 60 minutes in a greased and floured tube pan.

Glaze with the powdered sugar and lemon juice mixture.

Prayer Request

My brother-in-law Chris had a blood clot removed from his foot three weeks ago. They've tried oxygen therapy to aid in healing and it has not worked. They will have to remove his leg to just below the knee Tuesday. He is diabetic so we are all very worried. Please pray that his surgery and healing go well. Thank You.

Baby Update

I got my AFP test results back today and everything looks great. Praise God!

This is a baby sling that Zsuzsanna picked up for us. =)

Crafting for Baby

Today I thought I'd share some of the cross-stitches I've been working on for our little one. These patterns are from Beloved Bible Story Samplers by Praying Hands. There are eight patterns included. I will be attempting to do all but Psalm 23 because the verse is not KJV.

Muffins

Jasmine posted some yummy looking muffins on her blog today. So I thought I'd share some muffin recipes as well:

Strawberry Cinnamon Muffins

Ingredients:
2 eggs
2/3 cup sugar

1/4 cup plain yogurt (vanilla is also good)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 stick butter, melted and cooled
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups strawberries diced

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease muffin tins or line with paper cups. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until light. Add milk, yogurt, vanilla, and melted butter. Gently whisk. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add to milk mixture and stir just until flour disappears. Gently stir in berries. Spoon thick batter into muffin cups to the top. Bake 20-25 min. Serves 18.

Went to the doctor today

We got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It's so amazing. God is so good. We have an appointment for June 27 for our big ultrasound. =) Hopefully we will find out if it's a boy or a girl. I can't wait.

I also want to say Happy Birthday to my mom. I Love You.

Are you saved?

No, not do you attend church, or are you baptised? Not are you a "good person?" My question was are you saved? These things will not get you into heaven.

John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The only way is to believe on Jesus Christ.

Romans 10: 9-11: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Yes, it's that simple. Believe on Jesus as your crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, and you can know where you will be for eternity.

Romans 10:13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Loving Life

I am a very blessed woman. I have a wonderful husband and a little one on the way. Chris (my husband) works hard so I can be a homemaker. Soon I will be a stay-at-home-mom. =) I can't remember a time when I didn't want to be a wife and a mother. It is so exciting!
