These creepy ads were brought to my attention last week.
They make my skin crawl. I guess maybe that's the response they're after. It makes me wonder who in their right mind would want to portray a child molester in a television ad? It seriously irks me that they have a lesbian freak in one of their ads. I sure don't need her to tell me to keep my kids away from people like her. It really bothers me that most parents see no problem leaving their kids with someone they barely know if it means they get a few hours of time alone. We see children as a priceless blessing, not a burden. (But what do we know? We've been told we're "not 'real' parents yet!") How well do most people really know their family and what goes on inside their homes? Everyone has some dirty uncle or cousin somewhere. It's insane. Yes, we plan on sheltering our children from the "real world" as much as possible and never letting them out of sight. Kindly get over it, please. =)

I didn't watch the ad because stuff like that bothers me and honestly I'm no longer surprised at what this world does. We never leave our son with anyone with the expection of my husband's parents and that is not a common occurance. The big problem being they watch a lot of tv and I am trying to limit what my son watches if he watches at all. We live with them so it can't be competely avoided. I never really payed attention to how pervented society had become until I became a mother. Now I find myself having to "approve" everything in his life . I preview all books before I buy them. Toys are limited to stuffed animals, blocks, Hot Wheels, balls and a few other things. I do not buy anything with cartoon characters on it. I probably take to far with some things, but it's not just a pervented lifestyle people need to watch out far. I picked up a Little Golden Book at Wal-Mart about Jesus. I'm glad I glanced throught it because at the end it said something to the effect of "after Jesus's death ,his stories continued to be told around the world."
1. Jesus Is NOT dead
2. No acknowlegdement that Jesus is The Savior of the World. Someone might be offended. Way to much polictical correctness here.
So you have to watch out for that also. I know I'm rambling here, but you are right to shelter your children from the real world. We will do the same.
Sarah,
I looked at the ads today and my previous comment might seem a little of subject so I thought I comment again. I am disgusted that they would have a gay woman on a "prevent child sexual abuse" ad. Maybe I'm wrong (and please correct me if I am)
but I thought that's how homosexuals
turned others to their "alternative lifestyle". That's the pot calling the kettle black !
